Isn't it the definition of insanity to do the same thing over and over . . . while expecting different results?

You might not realize it, but you've been buying the same basic wedges . . . over and over and over . . . for all or most of your golf life.  So, is it any wonder you still have wedge play frustrations?

The fact is your 'tour design' wedges are the problem . . . and have been for decades.

The simple truth others in the industry will not admit is that your 'tour design' wedges are the most unforgiving clubs in your bag.  I've tested them on the Iron Byron swing robot for decades, and found them to have even a more elusive sweet spot than the most traditional forged blade irons!  That's because they have a very inefficient distribution of mass . . . and they've been essentially unchanged for nearly 70 years.

Take a look at these wedges that Ben Hogan delivered to Jack Fleck at the 1955 U.S. Open.  Honestly . . . can the other wedges on today's market really claim to be that advanced and different?

You might be asking, who am I to challenge an entire industry category? Well, I've been studying these look-alike, play-alike wedges from the major brands for over 30 years.  And I keep seeing the same things time and again.  The things you know all too well.

High face mis-hits always come up terribly short.  The same for toe misses.  Trajectories are too high for almost every golfer.  And spin is inconsistent.

The truth is that many of your less-than-acceptable wedge shots are really not your fault.

Robotic testing has repeatedly proven to me that those deficiencies are built in to all 'tour design' wedges . . . and even those new models that claim to be "game improvement" designs . . . and its been that way as long as any of us can remember.  Look at those two wedges again, and then look at the wedges you've played for decades, and even what you see on the market today.  Do you really believe there can be any real functional difference?

With all the mass so low, the top 2/3 of every 'tour design' wedge has always been super-thin, so any shot hit high on the face simply cannot go as far because there's very little "meat" behind the impact point.  It's called "smash factor", and when smash factor declines, distance does too.

Yes, I'm challenging an entire industry category . . . for your benefit!

Hello, my name is Terry Koehler. I'm the Chairman and Director of Innovation of Edison Golf Company . . . and the fact that you are here tells me that you're looking for something to make your wedge game better.

            Is it more penetrating trajectories?
            More consistent distance control?
            More forgiveness?
            More spin?
Or maybe it's all of the above.

Well, I can assure you that you are not going to get any of those by replacing your current wedges with another cosmetic rehash of what you've always played.  Let me share this bit of insight into wedge performance with you . . .

The fact is . . . you just cannot measurably change your wedge game without dramatically changing your wedges.  And other wedge brands have just not given you that opportunity.

A completely fresh approach to wedge design.

I've been acutely focused on wedge performance and golfers' struggles with wedges for the past thirty years.  And I created the new Edison Forged wedges with a commitment to getting further outside the box than ever before.  I started fresh with a clean face profile, and then I completely re-engineered the back of the wedge to deliver genuine shotmaking performance that has never been achieved in the category.

The Edison Forged wedges look different . . . so they can play different.  I was not going to go down the path of insanity like the other brands.  I knew moving only a few grams around the back of the club wouldn't either.  Slightly improved grooves or a nuanced new sold grind? Nada.

There's an old design adage that goes, "form follows function", and that is more true in golf clubs than anywhere.  If I was to completely change wedge performance, I had to completely change the way a wedge looks.

     {But then, isn't that what happened to all the other clubs in our bags?  The Ping® Anser® putter and Eye® irons, TaylorMade® Tour Preferred®, Big Bertha® . . . none of those looked like what we had played before, did they?  But they darn sure worked!}

And that's what the Edison Forged wedges are all about.

The proof is in the performance.

You know that robotic testing I talked about?  In head-to-head testing against the top three best-selling wedges in the industry, we smoked them all where it counts:

  • Launch angles that are 2-4 degrees lower on a loft-to-loft basis
  • Improvement in distance consistency that delivers up to 58% tighter dispersion from your mis-hits.
  • Forgiveness - best in the category.  So your not-so-good shots end up closer to the hole than with any other wedge.
  • Spin.  The superior distribution of mass dramatically improves gear effect, and that increases spin. It's simple golf club physics.

This is a big story.  And if you want to know more, you are in the right place.

Get WedgeFit and "Wedge-ology 101".

If you want to take an even deeper dive into wedge performance, I invite you to complete our proprietary WedgeFit Scoring Range Analysis.  Then I'll begin sending you a series of emails to share some of my inside knowledge about wedges and their performance that no one else in the industry would dare tell you.  And I'll close that "Wedge-ology 101" series by sharing the only surefire way to make sure your next wedge purchase is the best one you ever made.

Or you can just try one for yourself now - Risk Free.

If this all looks interesting and promising to you . . . and you live where you can tee it up right now . . . why don't you let us build you one to try, risk free?

I don't mean just some generic demo club, however.  We'll build your new Edison Forged wedge to your specs -- your loft, your shaft, even any custom alterations to length and lie angle if you want them.  Then you can go play it for a few rounds.  Hit the shots you know, on the courses you play most often.

I'm betting you will see noticeable differences in spin, launch and distance consistency.  And -- most importantly -- along the way I know you're going to find yourself "getting away with" some shots that turn out much better than you might have expected.

But if you don't find this improved performance, just let us know and we'll buy it back at the same price you paid for it new!  If Edison Forged wedges don't work for you, we certainly do not want them in your bag.

Again, I invite you to read all about Edison Golf and the remarkable Edison Forged wedges.  And take our WedgeFit Analysis.  Or you can just let us build you one to try.  You've got nothing to lose but a few strokes off your scores.

Thanks for the time and interest today.  I hope you'll take me up on our offer.

All the best,

Chairman/Director of Innovation
